Remove EXIF data without losing quality
EXIF data is written into photos by cameras and phones: the camera, lens and settings, the date and time, often the GPS location, and sometimes a serial number and the owner's name. This page removes all of it, along with XMP and IPTC data, comments and embedded previews.
Most EXIF removers re-save the photo, which loses a little quality each time. Here, JPG, PNG and WEBP files are cleaned without re-compressing: the picture data is copied exactly and only the hidden data is left out.
Frequently asked questions
Open the clean photo on this page again: the report should say No hidden data found.
Yes. The rotation a phone records is kept, and nothing else.
Most big networks remove it from the photos they show, but files sent by e-mail, chat apps that send the original, cloud links and websites often keep it. Cleaning a photo before you send it is the only way to be sure.
No. For JPG, PNG and WEBP only the hidden data is taken out; the picture data stays byte for byte the same. Only blurring faces or text redraws the picture, at high quality.
Only if you want it to be. The colour profile says nothing about you, and keeping it keeps the colours exactly as they were. Untick Keep the colour profile to remove it as well.
Many cameras and editors store a small copy of the photo inside the file. Some apps don't update it when you crop or edit, so it can still show the original picture. Cleaning removes it.
Yes. Add up to 30 photos, check each one's report, and clean them all with one click.
