Compress a JPG to 100 KB without guessing
100 KB is the most common limit for application photos, profile pictures and online forms. Instead of trying quality settings by hand, set 100 KB and the tool finds the highest JPG quality that still fits, for every image you add.
Most photos fit at their full pixel size, so they keep their sharpness and only lose detail you can't easily see. PNG screenshots and graphics are turned into JPG on a white background, because only JPG can be made to fit an exact size.
Frequently asked questions
Add the photo, keep 100 KB selected and click Compress images. The file you download is under 100 KB. If your photo is already smaller than that, it is left exactly as it is.
A PNG is lossless, so it can't be squeezed to an exact size without throwing away its format. The tool saves it as a JPG instead, with transparent areas filled with white.
Yes. Resizing to a file size and compressing to a file size mean the same thing: making the file smaller in KB. If you need a certain width and height in pixels, use Resize image.
JPG and WEBP compression is lossy, but Recommended keeps a balance that suits most photos, and Smallest that looks the same checks each result against the original. PNG and SVG compression is lossless, so nothing visible changes in those files.
Up to 30 images or 200 MB per task. Add them all, click Compress once, and download the results one by one or together in a single ZIP file.
Some files are already well optimized. When the compressed version would be the same size or bigger, you get your original file back unchanged, and it is marked as already optimized.
No. Compression runs inside your browser on your own device. Your images are not uploaded or stored anywhere, which also means a large batch never waits for an upload to finish.
Recommended is fast and works well for most images. Choose Smallest that looks the same when file size matters most. It is slower, and a very detailed photo can sometimes come out larger than with Recommended.
