Faster pages with lighter images
Large images are the most common reason a website loads slowly. This recipe resizes each image to at most 1920 pixels on its longer side, enough for a full-width picture on a big screen, and saves it as WEBP, which is usually 25 to 35% smaller than a JPG of the same quality.
Every modern browser shows WEBP. Change the size or the quality in the steps to suit your site's layout.
