Our background remover runs a portrait matting network (MODNet) for people and a salient object network (U²-Net) for products, both through ONNX Runtime in WebAssembly.
The model downloads the first time you use it and your browser caches it; after that it works offline. Your photos never leave the device.
For the best cut-out, choose Person for people and pets, and Object for products, logos and drawings.
